Once upon a time, there lived a man who had been blessed with six daughters. Each time his wife became pregnant, he would wait with great hope, whispering silent prayers for a son. But every single time, Allah blessed him with a daughter.
Though his wife loved each child deeply, the man’s heart began to fill with disappointment. Society’s cruel words and his own misguided desires weighed heavily on him. When his wife conceived for the seventh time, fear and frustration overtook him.
“What if it is another girl?” he thought bitterly.
Dark whispers entered his heart, planting evil thoughts: “This time, if a girl is born, I will divorce my wife. She is the reason I have no son.”

That night, he went to sleep with this decision in his heart.
The Dream of Judgment Day
In his dream, he saw the Day of Judgment. The earth was shaking, the skies were torn apart, and people were being gathered in fear. His name was called, and angels took hold of him. He felt his heart stop when he heard the dreadful words:
“Because of your sin, Hell is now your destination.”
Terrified, he was dragged toward the blazing gates of Hell. Flames roared, the ground burned beneath his feet, and screams echoed all around.
Just as he reached the first gate, a young girl stood there — his eldest daughter. She raised her hand and said,
“No! This is my father. I will not let him pass.”
The angels stopped. They took him to the second gate, but there stood his second daughter. She too stood firm, blocking the path and saving him.
At the third gate, his third daughter appeared. She stopped him again.
At the fourth, fifth, and sixth gates, one by one, each of his daughters stood as his shield, refusing to let their father fall into the fire.
Finally, they reached the seventh and last gate of Hell. His body trembled, his heart pounded, and tears rolled down his face. But this time, there was no daughter standing there to stop him.
The Awakening
At that very moment, he woke up — drenched in sweat, his heart beating like a drum. Realization struck him like lightning.
“How wrong I have been!” he cried.
“My daughters are not a burden — they are my saviors! If I am blessed with a seventh daughter, she will protect me from the last gate of Hell.”
He raised his hands high and prayed with a broken heart:
“O Allah, forgive me. Grant me another daughter, so that she may stand at the seventh gate and save me too.”
The Lesson
This man learned that daughters are not a curse but a blessing — a shield that may save a father from the punishment of Hell. The birth of a daughter is a gift, a mercy, and a source of honor.
Those who see daughters as a burden have fallen into the trap of ignorance. The decision of whether a child is a boy or a girl is not in the hands of the mother or the father — it is solely the decision of Allah.
“To whom He wills, He grants sons, and to whom He wills, He grants daughters, and to whom He wills, He grants both sons and daughters, and to whom He wills, He gives none.”
So be grateful, for a daughter can become the very reason for a parent’s salvation in the Hereafter.
